The smell of burning surrounded the young cat. Tracing his paws carefully, with his tail layed flat and his ears pricked, Warrun kept to the shadows of giant boulders. After he had lost sight of Sylvester, the tom took a breath. No going back now...I've already left my scent. He closed his eyes, trying to remember the scents from his kithood....the warmness of the cats around...how their fur always smelled singed (in a good way)...and opened his eyes. It was around dusk when the white tabby tomcat returned from his hunt. Two large pheasants were dangling from his jowls, Sylvester's head held high to avoid stepping on their long tails and risk tripping over them. The last thing he wanted was to get hurt after a successful hunt. What would their deputy and leader think of a guard getting hurt a few days away from war? Carefully, he made his way closer to the kill pile, the heap of dead prey somewhat plentiful. It was a successful hunt for a lot of cats it seemed. So, here's my first OFFICIAL practice artwork done in Corel Painter 12. I actually was supposed to do an assignment for my Digital Painting class, but instead I decided to test out brushes. Especially since I may want to use it for future assignments. Luckily it works similar to Photoshop, save for a few differences.

Also, this serves as a gift for my friend

What an absolutely gorgeous picture, luffles! ;;w;; I'm really really pleased at how well Corel Painter's 12 been workin' out for ya, so far, and this first drawing was definitely no exception!

Kristla looks ravishing here. She's splendid, just splendid. o u o Ohoho, her whiskers, those whiskers, they turned out so curly and cool, just like her sly expression. =3 And her coat looks so spectacular! Oh, Fluffy!

Nice eyes and expression, Frosty. I'm glad you remembered the whiskers too. At first quick glance they look like extra ear-rings hung in her fur. Looking closer at the expanded view it looks kinda like a handlbar mustache!
